Immersive Ecoacoustics

MUSI 7547

Immersive Ecoacoustics is a graduate-level course in environmental sound and music, focused on composing immersive sound and light works for the CSC Conservatory. Following the model of UVA’s Coastal Conservatory (http://www.coastalconservatory.org), students will learn ecoacoustic theory and technology and apply these tools to create original projects. In addition to soundscape and acoustic ecology practices, we explore alternative methodologies, including imprinting, mapping, soundcasting, and sonification.
