The Contemplative Commons sits adjacent to the Dell, an 11 acre natural area including a large pond fed from a restored stream between Alderman Road and Emmet Street. The Dell is a serene environment which also prevents erosion and flooding.
The Dell is not managed by the Contemplative Sciences Center but was an existing feature of the UVA landscape that the architects of the Contemplative Commons designed around. Learn more about the Dell.
