Camping and Contemplation under the Cosmos (Summer 2026)
Join us for a weekend refuge! UVA Rec and the Contemplative Sciences Center are partnering to offer a retreat under the sun and stars at the Big Meadows campground in Shenandoah National Park. This special summer occasion is open to all; students, faculty, staff and community. Come experience the awe of the morning and night skies. The retreat includes star-watching, a hike, and morning yoga practice. Transportation will be provided.
Those that prefer not to camp may try to book a stay at the Big Meadows Lodge.
Limited to 20 people.
Fee: $40 (includes, meals, transportation, camping gear, campsites, yoga and meditation class)
