Marianna Sherry

Marianna serves as a Student Engagement Coordinator, supporting student flourishing through implementation of mission-aligned programming. She began collaborating with the Contemplative Sciences Center as a Student Advisor in 2024. Prior to joining CSC’s staff, Marianna’s work focused on supporting local student’s social-emotional education through the Starr Hill Pathways Program of UVA’s Center for Community Partnerships. She utilizes the same person-centered approach fostered by her experience in K-12 in her work with the CSC’s team of Student Programming Assistants. By nurturing relationships with diverse stakeholders across the University community, she hopes to promote the living ideal of contemplation for all.

Marianna holds a degree in Political & Social Thought from the University of Virginia. She hopes to engage in lifelong contemplation through her spiritual practice and prospective career in social science research. In her free time, she enjoys updating her Letterboxd and Substack, exploring new places, and spending time in nature.
